I just love a fresh start. (I'm sure I've said that somewhere else on this blog, but I don't mind saying it again.) This year we celebrated the successes of 2007 and our fresh start for 2008 in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania a this cute old colonial with friends. We had a great time and managed to get sleep in spite of creaking floorboards, late nights chatting, pregnancies, and kids who were adjusting to sleeping in a new place. The three of us enjoyed cultivating our friendships most.
While we were there, we were able to visit Gettysburg, which we did last when Joshua was about 8 months old and our friends the Alleys lived in Philadelphia. The experience this time was much different--what a difference a few years makes! Joshua loved the cannons, swords, mortars, and guns, and then he wanted to go back to our homebase (just twenty minutes away) to play with his friends. Dan was able to stay behind and see more of the battlefied even though the weather was wet and ugly.Happy New Year! What does your year hold in store for you? We're already looking forward to the great memories we'll be making as a family.
(That might be the last and final picture you get of me with these babies on the inside. The reflection in the storm door behind me will give you an idea of how big things are getting. Whoa.)

How nice to spend that time with friends. You look adorable, but speaking from experience it seems like people think you look a lot better than you (the pregnant woman) feel.
Miss you!

Something very clever & animated, I'm sure. PS. I still haven't had the Christmas day chat with Joshua. Oh man. I'll call sometime this week.

And your belly may be big but the rest you is still skinny (I'm jealous). Your PA trip sounds so fun. I would love to go out East again.
