Here's D as the proud papa just hours after A and E's birth. He is Superdad, proving himself to be such again and again.
J was pretty skeptical of the babies in his first visit to the hospital. On his second visit he brought teaching props (an old issue of Your Big Backyard in this picture) so that he could start the twins' education right away.
Also pictured is SuperNana--my mom has just been amazing this past week. From shopping to cooking to playing to comforting me in the hospital, she has been such a help. I'm so grateful she's so willing to give two weeks of the best years of her life to make this trip.We ended up in the hospital for five days and four nights. I almost cried on Thursday when the doctor told me they wanted me to stay until Friday, but we're home now and that's all that matters.
Remember Superdad above? To give J a fun memory in the midst of all this newness, D surprised him with quick trip into the City to the American Museum of Natural History on Saturday to see their huge collection of dinosaur bones. They had a great time, but in the end J just wanted to come to play with Nana who had been here helping me all day.
And here's the fruit of our labor--OK, so I didn't actually go into active labor at any point during the lead-up to their arrival. Here's little A in my ultra-cool Moby Wrap. A is already a socialite--she loves to be with people and is quite the snugglebug.
Little E is rather mellow so far--maybe the anesthesia is still working it's way out of his body, but he does the best "chilling out" of any baby I've ever seen. Here he is completely exhausted after eating.
Thanks for all your words of support and encouragement and love. And you're right, AJ, we are in love with our little additions.

Oh my heavens!! Such an adorable family. I'm so glad everything is going smoothly. Joshua had some hilariously entertaining things to say about his week in class today.
"When the babies cry, I feel like they are just really trying to tell me something, like they want to eat. 'Cept I don't know if it's time to eat yet."
Thanks so much for posting these pictures! I've been wondering how you're doing. Sounds like you're adjusting well. If anyone can raise twins, it's you two!
They're so cute! They really have perfect little heads. I am glad to see you looking so great already as well. You don't look sleep-deprived and stressed. Same old strong chipper Liz!
Great pics. Don't care for the opacity effect on your site however. Can't see the photos as well.
Liz--I have thought about you everyday. I wish that I could witness you in action, but then maybe I would be totally overwhelmed. You are amazing and totally inspiring.
Congratulations!
Andrea
Oh my goodness. You two are amazing. And I am sure Joshua is an amazing big brother. Your babies are so cute. Liz, you look wonderful. You do not even look like you have given birth to two babies in the last week! I love the new pictures. Super cute little family!
Congratulations! I am so happy all went well and you have two beautiful, healthy babies. What a change in the dynamics of your home, I'm sure. What adventures you have a head of yourselves. Well good luck and enjoy all these precious moments.
You look awesome! A and E are so adorable. You have the cutest family. Best wishes!
What sweet sweet little babies! Congratulations again, and what a good big brother J. is going to be.
Aren't moms wonderful? I don't know what I would have done without mine and the Duke's moms' help after Little Sir was born. And you need twice (or three times) the amount of help!
Those two little ones are lucky to have been sent to such a wonderful family- you guys are great!
A and E look great! Get as much sleep as is humanly possible while your mom is there!
They are cuties... congrats!
You look great and It's good to see you in some of the pictures. I wish you well. I Love you, Liz.
Liz, you look amazing! Why did you have to stay in the hospital for 4 nights & 5 days? How was the C-section? When you have a chance you'll have to email me all the details ... maybe it will help calm my nerves (or maybe not). Cute babies!
They are SOOOOO precious. I'm in love with them, too, Liz.
Congratulations to you all. I am just so happy for you and grateful that everything went well. Enjoy your blessings.
Love you

Hi Player Family,
I found your blog link on "Yarnation" and have been reading for a while. I just set up my own blog, though, so I can finally leave comments! Your babies are amazing. And you, L, are amazing for supporing those fetuses!!
I can't imagine a better home for these two. Good luck to all of you...especially big brother J :)
Love,
The Birch Family
Oh my! You are all looking so good! We need to talk...when you have a few minutes. I am just so happy for you...I can't wait to meet A & E! Love to you all!
Wow, Liz - thanks to your mom for ending me her link to her blog. I have been keeping track of the you and the "little" ones. All your old teachers are so pleased that all went well and that you were able to have such big twins. I'll been you didn't think you were having a cable channel - A&E - at least it is a quality channel. I love you and I will get your address from your mom as I think you might need a few more things for the wee ones. I love you, Marsha
Aw! They are so cute. Congratulations! You must be having so much fun with them.
You have two cute bundles of joy!! You look so great L. I hope you are recovering well. It seems for me the hardest thing after a c-section is the transition from getting up to sitting down and back. So it has been so great to have husbands and mothers/family to help support us. Keep resting and enjoying these first few days with your two new cuties!
Oh, they are so beautiful! You give me hope that I can survive having three kids (and mine are only coming one at a time!) Good luck. I love hearing about you and your wonderful families.
Congratulations! We are so excited for you. You and the babies look great!
