Forty-five minutes, countless samples, one very long receipt, and one Costco smoothie later my kids looked like this! We all survived.
Today I conquered Costco. In honor of this occasion, I think I'll post the top ten things people say to me when they see I have twins. It's crazy how predictable their comments are. Here are the direct quotes:
1. "You've got your hands full." (I hear this every time I'm in public. Every time.)
2. "Twins?"
3. "A boy and a girl."
4. To Joshua "You must be the big brother."
5. Also to Joshua "You must help your mom out a lot."
6. "Blue eyes and brown eyes."
7. "Oh, he's bigger than she is."
8. "Aw, how cute."
9. "My _________ has twins."
10. "God bless you!" To which I usually get a little choked up and respond "He already did!" I've had that said to me more times than I ever have in my life. Maybe that's why my life is so great--I can thank everyone who's ever said that to me, I guess.

Ya made ME cry.
I'm freaking out about taking ONE kid to the store (seriously).
You're amazing.
i am laughing because i have said those same thing to other moms with twins :)!! how annoying am i? and seriously GOD BLESS YOU, even more than he already has :)!!
congrats on your trip to costco...what a feat, you have such a great outlook on life liz, you bless so many lives :) those kids are adorable!
Grocery shopping is probably one of my least favorite things to do. I only venture out to Sam's Club because they have a two seated cart for both my kids or Shop Rite because I can check Cody into the kid nursery. I'm so impressed you made the outing.
Wahoo Liz! You did it! And I laughed SO HARD at your list of comments. Believe it or not I have gotten all but one of those- the blue/brown eyes... My girls are identical, dressed in pink, and have piggy tails, and I've still been asked if they were boy and girl.... :) I think people just want an excuse to talk to amazing twin moms :)
I am always amazed by how many people want to stop and talk when you have a baby. And I just have one! I bet it takes longer to run errands just on account of all the people stopping you! Great post. (And you made me tear up at the end too.)
Wow Costco! You are so brave.
The blue eyes, the brown ones and the Big brother have to be by far the biggest blessings you could have ever asked for.
What a wonderful side of people you get to see when you go out. I don't know how anyone could resist saying hello to such a beautiful family - inside and out. Thanks for posting - always inspirational!!!
HA! I love it. Way to go. I usually wait until Josh is home from work to conquer the store. Love the picture of the kids in the car. You are VERY blessed! I think we all are pretty darn blessed in life. Thanks for the reminder!
Costco is SERIOUSLY enough to push me over the edge, and very easily. We use to go on Saturday, and it didn't matter what time is was pandemonium! Holly and I have found that Friday evenings, just before close is not to bad. Still organized chaos, mind you!
OHH, you should've told me I would've flown out there just to go with you, I LOVE Costco!!!!
This post put a smile on my face ... and it made me all misty eyed. I miss you! And congrats on your phenomenal accomplishment!
You are so brave! Seth can be a handful at costco. Way to go Liz, you're a hero!

Liz! How fun to hear from you via blogger! I had seriously just browsed your blog last week, (from Aunt Marie's blog, of course) I didn't know you had twins--that's awesome. Jamin has twins, and for whatever reason, I'm hoping it runs in the family, because I think I would love to have twins some day.
You look great, and your family is so cute.
