We celebrated someone's birthday. It was the perfect reason to invite our Brooklyn cousins--D's cousin and her family of five--to join us for the fun.
D and I were raised with our cousins nearby. We spent our first few years here in NJ thinking that it would be years before we'd give J that same opportunity. I don't think our six-year old is going to wait that long. We're so glad these two boys are close enough for him to feel some claim on their family ties.
