D's parents came to visit us from Washington State. Here are photos from two of our adventures together.
The Gettysburg Battlefield was sobering, beautiful, and hot on the fifth of July. From Little Round Top we surveyed the scene.
I marveled that my sweet innocents were carelessly toddling over the sites of such violence on those same days of July in 1863.
J got a rifle in the gift shop and he was all smiles all the time, toting his faux weapon with him as we hopped out of the car at every stop on our audio tour of the battlefield.
And we made it down the shore. I highly recommend Island Beach State Park to one and all--I think I just might be in love with the warm Atlantic Ocean.
Our kids loved the water, too. Here are some of my favorite beach faces from the day. I guess that last one is technically a post-beach face. I love her salty-crisp hair.
It was hard to send them west at the end of their trip knowing that it might be another year before be are reunited. But it helps to know that we can at least look forward to Yellowstone with them next July.
This week the kids and I head to California for more fun with my parents and cousins.
