FHE--Putting the "Active" Back in Activity

Treat:  Chocolate Chip Cookies
Lesson:  The Scriptures Are the Word of God
Music:  If I Listen With My Heart (sung by J)
Activity:  "Camels, Incorporated"
Family Fun Magazine featured this game this month--the kids had to cross the carpet on their hands and knees balancing pillows on their back, which is much harder than it looks if you have a child's back.  I named it something lame, like "crossing the dessert."  J renamed it.

Our kids love it when D and I are silly in FHE.  I could barely keep pillows on my back with their boisterous attempts to tackle me.
I am pretty sure we could do this activity every week.  It, of course, morphed into "Runaway Camel"--J sprinted away from the twins and they searched the house for him.
And this is how the living room looked postgame.
*Recently I've really felt that our family night's should include more activity--times when the kids can jump up and down or spin around or laugh really loudly.  I have been impressed by this statement regarding FHE made all the way back in 1915 by the presidency of the Church:  "formality and stiffness should be studiously avoided and all the family should participate."  Eventually it would be great if each element included an active aspect, but this week we started with, of course, the Activity.

We are so doing this tonight! I can already see Anders' face as he attempts it!

Love you, Liz!
