Monday's Lesson: The Triumphal Entry of Jersualem
Prophecy was fulfilled and Christ started a very busy week, the holiest of weeks.
We started revealing our illustrated timeline of Christ's final week of mortality.
Treat: Birds Nests
No-bakes + Jelly Bellies=Perfect Combo of healthy and unhealthy
I based the idea on the simple illustrations in this handout I received way back in my college New Testament class (about thirteen years ago) that I've kept filed away. Yesterday as I was reading in the scriptures I realized that the timeline is wrong! Christ's triumphal entry and the cleansing of the temple were on the same day! I think I need to come up with my own illustrated "Last Week".Tell me this:
What are your favorite ways to celebrate the Easter season?

I love how purposeful you are in celebrating Lent and Easter. I need to get my act together. Of course the kids do things at school, and we make a Lenten sacrifice, but I feel a need to do more. Thanks for the inspiration! I love those birds nests!
I've always struggled with finding meaningful ways/traditions to celebrate Easter. We did come to one tradition our kids still love. We have a special Easter basket filled with twelve plastic eggs. Each egg has an item that is a representation of events from last week of Christ's mortal life. When the kids were young, we would open an egg each night leading up to Easter and the last egg being open on Easter Sunday morning. The eggs contain things such as a scrap of red cloth and some thorns to represent Christ's mocking, a sacrament cup for the last supper, a rock for the stone covering the tomb, an oil vial and a strip of cloth for taking care of Christ's body, a bar of soap for Pilate washing his hands, an empty one for the tomb, etc. In these days of teenagerhood, we do this tradition as our Easter family home evening and take turns opening the eggs and discussing the meanings and share insights. We've separated the Easter bunny and Easter Sunday too. The Easter bunny and such was all done on Saturday saving Sunday for the Savior.
