May's Best Family Night

Monday we had our best family night of the month.  It wasn't "the best" because it was perfect.  It was "the best" because we all maintained a good mood and we ended on time.  Plus, it's really not that hard to label an FHE as "the best" because there are only five in the month of May to begin with.  It was so good that at the end I said "this was so fun, everyone sit by Dad so that I can get a photo" and this was the best they could give me. I'll take it.  I wish I would have jumped in there because I think it would have become my favorite  family photo ever.
 Lesson:  Table Manners
This was one of those needs-based lessons--our kids don't know what do do with themselves when we have dinner guests.
(When to start eating, when/how to ask for seconds, how to talk to Dad without interrupting, what to do when you're done eating.)
Activity:  Team "Triathalon"
(pictionary, "name that tune", scripture trivia)
Treat:  Chocolate Snack Cake
I figured out another way to get kids to sit down during FHE--make a pre-condition for using the dry erase marker.  I made sure to capture it on film (and I forgot to adjust for the light issue).

Your post has me giggling. You'll fit right in with our family at dinner time - no problem!

I want more specs on your FHE lesson - Table Manners. We need one at our house!
