The Tour 2011--Stage Four to Heber

I've been a part of big family for a long time and I guess I thought I knew what to expect going into a week of back-to-back reunions--big piles of shoes, the constant questions ("where's my child", "who's in charge of this next meal", "who needs a nap"), the late night chats.

What I forgot to anticipate was how much my heart would expand with love for  nieces and nephews who had either just joined the family or who had grown little personalities since I saw them last or who had become even more beautiful or kind or clever.  There's always room for more nieces and nephews, don't you think?

Learning when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em.
"Uncle James, will you marry me?"
"Princesses have to stick together."
"Has anyone seen Becks?  He's about this tall and he has on a red shirt and he looks like me"
Our healthy girl.
Mighty crawdad hunters.
Hearts on Sunday.  Nothing changes.
Fish tales.
Ready (but bashful) with his Go Pack.
I couldn't capture their cuteness too many times.
Best Snuggler 2011.  Love this Ben.
Michelin Baby.
They all ate well, slept well, got along, and they aced the "Sounds of the Farm" quiz. . .
but next year we'll work on the Grandkids Photo.
You can't be perfect at everything, right?
Of course I still love my siblings and their spouses, too, and I wish I would have taken more photos of them.

Hearts. Do you see who Dad is playing with now? Got to teach the new generation. And, who will forget Sam "holding" the Queen out of sight until he needed it? "I keep this one hidden," he says. HA!
