For five days we were this wonderful family that I married into nearly ten years ago. They are remarkable people with whom I love to be. Yellowstone will get its own post, but here are a few of my favorite things about Island Park.
Dinner and treats at the firepit.
Sunlit breakfasts with adorable cousins.
A certain someone was pretty clingy, but warmed up to new friends eventually.
Harry Potter movies in the family room were a hit in the bad weather . . .
. . . and then during the good weather we made it outside.
The Henry's Fork of the Snake River. I'm pretty sure I could have done the Coffee Pot Rapids walk everyday--we saw so much wildlife and enjoyed watching the fishermen in the middle of their sport. Just about every view of the river was picturesque and the trail was pretty kid-friendly.
Johnny Sack's cabin and beautiful pristine Big Springs--the artistry of the cabin, the clear water, and the trout are all hard to forget.
Dan treated us with a couple John Prine songs at the family talent show, along with one cute nephew who stood on his head and counted to ten in Japanese and another nephew who announced that he would put his right toe in his left ear (which he successfully did) and a beautiful musical number with the the oldest girls and Dan's sister.

Sounds like my kind of talent show!
Love it. Grew up going to Island Park for reunions. It really is gorgeous. Your little cabin talent show reminds me of Dan in Real Life. Next visit, I would love to see you!
Yup. Pretty much looks like heaven on earth.
