Tonight was our first day of fall soccer. We were so grateful it stopped raining so the kids could get out and run around on the field! All three kids are playing in a recreational league run through the JAG Corp. The league is so family-friendly--all the teams practice at the same time on the same night in the same place, and all games and practices are within a mile of our house. We will enjoy our evenings and game morning together as a family.
For practice today the twins' team played a half dozen short games like "Red Light, Green Light" with their balls to practice skills and they did really great! The other parent coaches were really positive and the mood was high.
A's best friend is on the same team and so far E doesn't seem to feel threatened by the fact that he's lost his buddy for all the games that require a buddy.J is playing on the nine-and-up team and has fantastic coaches. He's pretty optimistic about the team even though he's the youngest by far. He told me today that it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. Maybe the secret to life is having low expectations--that's one of D's favorite philosophies.
I don't know what you think, but I say this little bug is the cutest soccer baby on the field.

I saw the blue shirt and thought, "Hey, that is our reunion shirt... oh, that is Eli with our reunion shirt!"
Can't believe that it is OUR name on the back of a shirt... at the top!
I LOVE MY FAMILY!
A plethora of good times on the soccer field are on their way to you and your adorable kids. I feel like we spent hours on those Stanislaus fields. What a great sport!
Hurray for family-friendly sports. Hurray for little legs jumping, kicking, (and dancing).
