Your (Nearly) Christmas Visit

Dear Grandma and Grandpa,

You left yesterday and to deal with our sadness after J got home from school, we got right to work making a list of our favorite memories from your visit on a steno pad.  Here they are:

Decorating the Christmas tree
Christmas stories and Luke 2 in the evenings
A walk in the neighborhood
Watching "Grandmom's House" and Kid History on YouTube
An easy-going Pack Meeting
Games and puzzles (Spot It, Mancala, IPod games)
and story time, too.
And E wants you to remember, Grandpa, that you played the fishing game with him and you helped him win.
 Cookies, Cookies, Cookies
Visit to Santa in spit of E's assertion until the end that he wasn't going through with it
Breakfast at a restaurant (a family Christmas tradition)
Shopping for surprises and wrapping them
McDonalds for worn-out shoppers
A very chilly hike on the red trail in Ivy Creek Natural Area
But we found a warm spot to rest anyway.

Grandpa walking J to school
(And J wants you to remember that you gave him a five-dollar bill and he's so excited about it.)
A stake Christmas concert (in which D was singing) made possible by IPods and Jelly Bellies

And on top of all of that, D and I went on two dates and you fit in a trip to South Carolina, Monticello, the Rotunda at UVA, and the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum by Dulles.

We can't wait until you come back.  We have so much to look forward to.  We love you.

J, E, and A

what a fun update...always great when the grandparents come. I was laughing at your stake christmas concert comment, Greg was singing in ours this last Sunday and I braved it by myself with the 4 kids...Evan had my iphone and blasted Maroon 5 inbtwn. carols...and Graham fussed and we left early...all in the name of the Christmas spirit.

Merry Christmas Players!!!
