E and I didn't go to church today due to cold symptoms that require a box full of Kleenex. (I'm a little more sensitive to the people around me than I was a few years ago, and I'm a little kinder to myself.) At some point this morning I discovered J's Sunday sketchbook. When I am prepared it makes it into my bag for his benefit during sacrament meeting an hour each week--this is the art he makes in the chapel during sacrament meeting. I loved looking at the dozens of drawings and notes.
That last one in the corner says "I Love My henley father so much", in case you can't see. I love that.
As I flipped through his portfolio-of-sorts, I had just a couple wishes, and so I'm writing a note to myself. One, I wish that I would have added dates to the drawings. He's had this sketchbook for awhile and he hasn't added to it in any sort of chronological order. Two, I wish that I had established a policy to always pack the sketchbook rather than sometimes adding loose paper which always gets shoved into my bag and then ultimately recycled.
Tell me this: do your kids have any sacrament meeting pastimes that you can't do without?

My problem is that I often forget to bring anything at all. Right now I think our sacrament pastimes consist of a lot of squirming.
