My four-year old A loves her daily art project. (Today it was watercoloring a coloring book page with butterflies, for example.) She loves caring for the younger children who visit our home, and she swoons under attention from any older child who pays attention to her in the same way. She absolutely thrives in any sort of structured activity--she loves her Sunday church class, she beamed through a trial class at the local Little Gym, and her library class on Wednesday with Miss Heather is her favorite event of the week.
E still loves his older brother, but he's starting to pick up on his little sister's habits. He currently loves any art project involving tape and is working on a "rocket" that is he is crafting using a number ten can and clothespins. He sketches our family and writes his name as "Eil". He still loves to rough house, he loves to pray before mealtime, and he makes the most sincere apologies of anyone in the family. His least favorite day of the week is "church day" but his favorite day of the week is "Jensen or Pierce day".
J is eight. He loves Cub Scouts and family movie night and my weekly visit to his second grade classroom. Everyday I ask him what his favorite part of the day was and everyday he says "coming home" but I think his favorite part of the day is when his dad reads to him. If I let him do whatever he wanted after school his first choice would involve mud and a big shovel. (Today his also included a bucket and the gutter in that equation.) He is wearing out his shoes using them as brakes as he speeds downhill towards our house on the twins' Plasma Car.
