Our friends the H family from our Seattle years came to visit us. I love meeting up with old friends. We were in the same ward in Seattle and my D and their M were in the same graduate program at the University of Washington.
We spent the weekend of rain inside chatting while all Nerf craziness went on around us and then we did a little Charlottesville touring with our raingear or in the dryness of our cars. Today just the four youngest and their awesome mom (and my friend) R did some kid-friendly explorations of Jefferson's academical village. We loved the light of the Rotunda's dome room.
Also while they were here, one of them presented a lecture at UVA, one of them gave me the a much-needed hair cut and style, one of them took me shopping at TJMaxx and coached me away from the plain knit t-shirts, two of them stayed up with us playing games until midnight, and two of them became instant friends to our kiddos. I love this family and look forward to our next meet-up, perhaps next time in DC?
