We went on our bi-monthly date morning to the Washington D.C. Temple. We always leave really early in the morning so it feels like our date starts in the middle of the night. Every date like this starts the same way. I'm so excited to be with Dan for seven hours and so I talk about each of the kids and then I just fall asleep. Like a light, I am out, but he drives on, the two hours to our destination.
This morning I was especially tired after staying up until 12:30 a.m. to find my wallet, and that included the trip to Walmart at midnight to find that someone cautious had turned it into Accounting to be stored in the safe. And then fast-forwarding to 11 am. after being inside the temple for two hours, I was relaxed as we got back in the car and we drove home. We chatted about the types of road bikes the cyclists were riding on Beach Drive, the slow, windy road we take from the temple to the freeway. We munched our veggies, enjoyed leftovers from last night's pizza dinner, savored the last of the Trader Joes Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter pretzels, and then I was out like a light again.
Thank goodness for my designated driver on our dates, right?
