What does one call a day like today that changes from stormy to summer sunny? There should be a word for a day that starts out with lots of rain and torrents of run-off both in front of and behind our house. A day that requires extra wet weather protection at 8 a.m.
Days like today start out gray and cloudy and then change by 1:00 p.m. so that staying inside is the silly option.
A day like today is evidence that dangers pass and floods, as minor as they may be, dry up and leave interesting things behind--things like blue shoe strings, wriggling worms, and cleared trails in gullies.
A day like today reminds me that the sun is there all along; it is hidden by those clouds that are sending the rain down.
A day like today reminds me that storms and rain are necessary, but blue skies will always return.
