Summer So Far

Our June is so full. I can't get over it. I am a minimalist. I don't like spending a lot of money. I don't like obligating my time to things outside of my home. But June has offered us so many opportunities to serve and enjoy friends. Saying "no" this month doesn't seem to ever be the right option.
We celebrated the second day of summer vacation with a trip to the movies. I was pleasantly surprised with The Croods, but D does joke the secret to life is having low expectations. Maybe it worked.
We went to a super fancy UVA year-end dinner with our friends who are finishing a fellowship here. Don't get me started on missing these people. Every June of our marriage has been punctuated with goodbye parties and dinners and you think I would be used to parting with friends by now. It's only become harder. Or maybe our friendships have only become better.
And then there was Father's Day which we simplified on this year. We are so happy with the dad we've got.
This week is Cub Day Camp and I went for one day to herd and cheer and do head-counts every half hour. J is in heaven at Cub Camp, and it's fun to see him in his element in all his boyness. (More photos of this to come.)

I was mentally present until they fished for the last hour and then I realized I was going to fall asleep in the sun or work on my to-do list on my IPod. YW Camp is just a few days away and my list has at least one hundred things on it.

Thanks for being our friends!! This is NOT goodbye, Tanner and Josh wouldn't not let that happen! (I'm okay with that)
