We joined our ward for an early pancake breakfast and bike rodeo yesterday in celebration of the Independence Day. As predicted, the kids liked the simplest bike activity which was riding big circles in the church parking lot as fast as possible, but they humored us by practicing their skills. As with every activity I take am over, I start evaluating as the event unfolds--next year we will turn this into more of a bike rally.
In addition to pancakes and bikes, we also filled our Fourth with naps, a small-town parade, pool time, burgers, and firework viewing at Penn Park. We are grateful for time with new and old friends on special days.
