Pumpkin carving the night before.
It's too humid and the squirrels are too hungry to do it much before
A was so excited, squealing and chanting "pumpkin guts" as Dan topped each of them.
We successfully convinced my friend Staci to join us, though she's not pictured. I'm pretty sure she was keeping a super hyper A happy in the other room.
We all feasted on the roasted pumpkin seeds D whipped up while I carved.
I woke up with a spooky Halloween migraine (only the fourth in my life) and so I missed all school costume events, so we picked up after school finalizing trick-or-treating plans.
J planned to hand out candy, but I convinced him to dress up as a dairyman just because we got these awesome John Deere caps and I wanted him to wear one. E opted for J's Harry Potter costume, and A fell in love again with her mermaid costume.
We knocked on the doors of ten neighbors on our streets and then called it good. We had a family date on the Klockner soccer field at UVA to attend to.
And they won! Our UVA Women's Soccer team remained undefeated this season. They are number one in the nation.
Everyone was mellow, but then antsy, so I used the camera to distract them. Here J is showing me the blister he got from pumpkin carving last night.
With the exception of the bedtime meltdown over rules and restrictions of the Switch Witch, we had a great evening.
