Cute, Not Cute

 J twirls his hair when he's reading and sometimes when he's watching something intently. I have never minded the tiny little tuft of hair that stands on end as a result of this little habit. 

 Yesterday he came home with hair that looks like this. When I asked him what had happened he explained that he had just figured out that he could "twirls lots of hair at once" by rubbing his whole palm in circles on his forehead. We couldn't even brush it out.

So now instead of the one little tuft of hair this is what I was looking at. You can see in the background the inevitable fate of that new style. I think we were both a little relieved to say goodbye to it go, and we went extra short (a 4 on the clippers) just to be sure we got it all.
