Back to Boston 2014 (USNERT14 Part 2)

I never get enough of Boston--every return trip is overdue--I love taking it in, just a little bit at a time, just as fast as my kids can absorb it. When I knew we were returning to Boston to see friends, I planned a little historical touring. Last time we were on the Freedom Trail we made it halfway, just to Fanueil Hall. We made it a little farther this time, following the bricks and painted red line.
I love how much of the old is preserved in Boston, but we had to work hard to find it in the middle of the new.

More churches and brick meeting places than I could photograph.

We might have spent the cash for touring Paul Revere's house at Modern Pastry instead. We didn't regret it, and we enjoyed the rest of our walk without glimpses of the undoubtedly interesting interiors.

We drove just a few miles south to Adams Historical Park, which are made up of John Adams' old and newer homes in Quincy, Mass. We had only an hour to learn something as we toured, so we visited the carriage house and saw a little bit of Plainfield.

"It is but the farm of a Patriot," but a beautiful one at that. My favorite thing about this house is knowing how central it was to John Adams' life. His home and family were sacred to him, and I respect him for his fidelity.
