One Last Winter Post (Since Spring Is Nearly Over)

This past winter was full: full of challenges, loss, triumphs, anxiety, and fun. For example, I decided take the GRE, which involved a very brief two-week study period and then a heart-stopping experience at the testing center, but I passed. That made application to a masters program at UVA possible, which involved enlisting the help of letter-writers and scrutinizing class schedules, but I got in. All the while, Dan was applying for jobs out of state and I knew that leaving Charlottesville was a real possibility, so I prayed my guts out, tried not to cry every time I talked about it, finally felt peace about moving to New Jersey or North Carolina or New Zealand (just kidding, we didn't consider moving there), but in the end a job opening at UVA made staying here a possibility.

I have lost my blogging habit in the commotion, it seems, but my goal is to catch up before school's out since this summer will have lots of adventures to document.

Back to the winter, it snowed A LOT right at the end. My kids and snow are a good match. We loved the white fluff. Can one take too many photos of this kind of fun?
E and A both lost both teeth in February. They were a cute pair.

 We stayed busy inside, too.

When the thawed a week later we enjoyed that, even when the snow froze into glaciers at night that I had to chip away with shovels which cracked under the work. Next year I'm committed to having better snow gear for everyone to increase the time we can be outside working and playing.
