USRT15 #6---B.Y.U.

Visiting BYU is a rare treat for me. Virginia seems like a whole world away from Provo, UT. As my home for four years, it's a place I anticipate returning to. After driving into the night from Moab, arriving at our friends' house at 1 a.m., we slept in and eventually made our way to the Bean Museum first. It was probably Eli's favorite spot and I don't blame him. Though much different than during my days at BYU, it has the same familiar feel of knowledge saturation.
We started our campus tour at the tunnel to Helaman Halls. I lived in those dorms as a freshman. I remember how sad I was to leave their comfort and the dining hall behind when I moved into an apartment. From the tunnel we walked up the curved hill.
Through the Tanner Building
To the ASB.
To the HFAC (Harris Fine Arts Center)

To the Wilkinson Center
By the Twilight Zone, the convenience store section of the bookstore where I stocked gum, bagels, soft-drinks, and snacks.
Up and down the steps of the new HBLL (Harold B. Lee Library).
After being on campus, we went by Park Place, the apartments where I lived for two years. Dan lived just next door at Southridge, and that is part of the story of how we became such good friends.
This place used to be pink! We lived in Number One, right on the corner.

We walked to Southridge to the apartment in which I lived for a month after my mission. It feels much brighter there now.
We were too close to the Botany Pond to pass up on a quick walk there. I'm kicking myself that I didn't have my kids climb the stairs to to the JSB.

I wonder if my kids will have a chance to study here. I would love it if they did, but I hope my good memories of my college days will set expectations for them for the adventure they'll have when they are old enough.
