Pedal Boating

We decided to get out on the water on Saturday for some family time in pedal boats. Joshua initially balked at our attempts to get him to don the life preserver. We're happy he saw it our way.
I had to giggle when we sat down in the boat and Dan reminded me that the last thing he wanted to do that day was pedal more. He had gone on a windy 55-mile bike ride with friends early Saturday morning and was more worn out than usual. He's a good sport.
This lake just happens to be a training venue for the national rowing teams competing in the 2008 Games in Beijing. The scholastic rowing scene is also pretty big in this area. I guess Saturday wasn't their day to train--no rowing teams in sight that day. It's probably a good thing--we would have wasted them with our tenacious pace.

I loved pedal boats as a kid! It was probably more fun when your dad was doing all the work.

That looks like so much fun and such nice weather. I wouldn't dare attempt it here in our hot muggy weather...maybe in the fall.
Poor Dan. What a trooper.
