Last year the boys discovered the
Dragon Boat races being held nearby. This is the short story of our adventure to the races this year.
The boys made an effort to figure out what all the drumming and paddling was about--for about two minutes.
However, the lure of the lake was much stronger and they waded closer to the action, but that wasn't really to see things better.
And they did a little rock hunting and throwing--
and they insisted on pulling out whatever slippery things they could find growing under the surface--
--and in the end, after enjoying sack lunches to build up their energy, we ended up at the playground jumping off the play structure.
Can you believe I strongly considered taking them to a movie? On Dragon Boat weekend? Clearly they've proven they have better ideas for how to spend a Saturday.

Ha! I like that third photo of the three of them standing in the water just looking. Boys, rocks, and water...a recipe that will continue to be enjoyed from now through eternity!
Hey, I just found out I can make comments on your blog because I have a Google email account....didn't realize that's all it took.
