I have a feeling that the Star Wars metaphor he lives will stay with him for awhile. By the way, do you think that the patch promotes violence? I mean, Han is brandishing a blaster, and Luke is wielding a light saber. This morning he loaded up his pack with all the essentials: rest mat, bento box, art smock, and his folder with completed emergency forms. I love how J says "smock"--it's virtually impossible for him to do it without increasing the volume of his voice and sounding (and looking) barbaric. See?
And one more "nice" smile before I sent him off. Enjoy your adventure today, cute jedi padawan!

wow! I have so much to say about your cute little (who is beginning to be not so little anymore) boy.
1. I love love love the Jedi patch. You are such a good mommy to have him make his backpack his own.
2. That backpack is huge! I always wondered what my students filled their backpacks with...who knows what.
3. I love the pictures of his face (the 3rd one). Man, he is one cute boy. It will be a sad day when he starts losing his teeth because they are so adorable.
4. He is so tall!
I need to call him & get the first week of school report. Can't wait to hear all about his teacher & classroom.
I too love love love the photos. I was on the phone with AJ looking at her photos of Jackson and went to your blog update. We enjoyed the photos together.
He is such a happy boy. His world has just been enlarged exponentially. He has a lot to do! He has to get going!
I chose #3 photo for the updated wall photo. It is just so "Joshua".
Such an adorable post. You are on one end...and I on the other. Weird. That red door leads to his school??
Oh...my little Joshua all grown up! I can't believe he is in Kindergarten! Tell him good luck from us and that we love the star wars patch!
my nieces started kindergarten this week!
I love how he personalized his backpack. It's crazy how huge those things are for little Kindergartners, isn't it! I'd love to see what you put in your bento box. I considered getting one for our kids this year but couldn't find one and it was too late at that point to order online. I look forward to hearing more about his accomplishments this year.
greg is totally jealous of the star wars backpack, what a little cutie, he looks sooooo ready!! I can't wait to hear how school is going :)
I can't believe you have a kindergartener! He looks like such a big boy. I bet the twins miss him so much during the school day. Good luck to all of you this year!
They are growing up fast, or we're all getting OLD!
When are you coming to Hartford? We still need to meet up one of these days. Why are you doing a half in Baltimore? How close is that to you? Way to go. That is very impressive. I am not sure I am up for that distance, but I am going to try :)
