In the Morning--Yardwork

In the morning in the fall (if the weather is friendly) we go straight to the backyard after dropping off J at school. We get a lot of autumn yardwork done in those first hours of the day:
Gardening.
I'm pretty sure she's as amazed by that color contrast as I am. Like me she's probably amazed that Mounds-of-Snow go from deep green leaves and bright white globes to this in a matter of a month. Amazing.
Testing out the fleet.
Anyone else have half a dozen wheeled toys in their yard? E would be happy to push them all over your yard to ensure they're in proper working condition.

Playing in autumn puddles.
E splashes every last drop out of that puddle each and every wet morning.
Swinging. A loves to swing.
I wonder if she's pondering principles of physics as she glides through the air.
After an hour when A and E start pausing like this (long enough for me to get her beautiful blue eyes), I know we're done for morning.
We're enjoying every moment of mild weather we can get.

One more that I like--it has nothing to do with morning or yardwork.

What busy kids! It's so nice to be able to play outside. I'm afraid it's already too wet here to spend much time outside. I'm already missing my lunch time walks and it's only been rainy for a little while.

How inspiring and beautiful! Thanks for sharing. If I remember right, those eyes look an awful lot like yours . . . :-)

Liz this was fun. I'm learning your kids faces gradually through all the posts! Fall is by far my most favorite time of year because of all the colors~
