Yesterday when we dropped you off at the airport I repeated your name over and over for the first five minutes of our return trip home. Then A cried all evening until Daddy finally put us to bed a half hour early. This morning might be going better.
A and I walked around the house looking for you after breakfast. We sat on the floor reading books where your bed was, and we said "Nana" about a hundred more times. Mom didn't take us out of our pajamas until it was time for our walk at eleven. At 8:00 am. J started writing a book before leaving for kindergarten. I'm pretty sure he'll dedicate it to you. He also misses you. I can tell because he referred to the Library Room as "Nana's Old Room".
Thank you for flying here to see us and spending a whole week holding us, rocking us, reading to us, feeding us, cleaning up after us, interpreting our primitive language, and playing with us in the backyard, on the floor, and in your room.
I love you. And so does my family.E

Ah, so sweet. Grandparents are so great :)
Grandparents are the best! So sad you can't be closer so everyone could feel the love even more often.
Beautiful. Just beautiful.
That is so wonderful and touching...grandma's like your mom rock!
of course mom is reading a book titled, "farm".
I love J's kissy face in the last pictures. I know it's not really a kissy face. it's probably a fishy face...but I love it just the same.
looks like a fun visit from grandma, glad she could be there with you guys and now its time for withdrawals...sorry :)
It's heartbreaking to see how kids grow attached to their grandparents and then have to say goodbye. What a special bond!
