Last Shots at/of the Snow

Things are warming up around here. The duplicity of my mood at the changing of a season baffles me. I love the variation--the snow, the sun, the heat, the cold--but I know we can't have them all at once. Even our front yard seems to be unsure about what it wants.
E took his last shots at the snow with the snow shovel this week. Why didn't I discover his interest in manual labor with this white stuff earlier?
A was at my side watching her brother go. My two year-old snow-moving machine was quite the sight. We even got a few laughs from people passing by. Who knew he had such talent and such work ethic? I think he will be sad to see the day we put the snow shovel away in the near future.
J, on the other hand, will be happy to see a snow-free backyard again. This week on a particularly warm afternoon he coaxed me into the backyard so that he could swing with us as the audience. His exuberance on the swing made me smile. This boy belongs outside--he's a wild animal, I tell ya.
See ya later snowy days! Come on in, Spring!

Burr. Snow on the ground & E isn't wearing a jacket? He must be working hard. Hurray for spring!

I agree, all hail Spring! I can't wait! I'm sure it's hard to wait for the snow to go away. Here it doesn't last long. That is truly amazing, though, his snowshoveling!!!

Little boys at work are the cutest! I always tell people my 2 boys are like dogs. They need to get out and run everyday or they go crazy. I open the door and the scurry to it just like a dog, and few minutes later they're freezing and ready to come back in-but boy was it worth it!

Love your little man with the shovel! Who needs that pretend kid lawnmower when you have snow?! Oh my. That darling little hat on 'A.' The best.
