Twenty years ago I met JJ. More radiant than ever, she is a light to me, and I love remembering our days of innocence. You know the days I'm talking about--our days of girls camp and sleepovers and stake dances. Truthfully, any of my old friends remind me of simpler times, but I really was just a child when J and I became friends.
Today we returned from a visit with her--D and J are out of town, so I took the twins on this short trip. On my drive home as I reflected on last few days together I was so thankful we chose to do "daily" things rather than things worthy of a travel magazine. I loved being moms together with our three toddlers (of the same age) running circles around us at the park.
Our kids wore themselves out on the playset, crawling through tunnels and hiking up to the top of the slide. They wore us out as they flew through the air on the swing.
The "daily" park feature most popular on this particular trip was definitely the mulch beneath their little feet. Who knew wood chips could be so much fun?
Grab and drop. Squeeze and toss.
Sit and scoot and sweep.
Thanks for being such perfect hosts, Friends. Perhaps when we meet again we can investigate... grass ...or sand.

Ohhh so much fun! How great to meet up with an old friend.
Hope your kids didn't end up with any slivers. Yikes...that sit & scoot could be potentially very painful!
Oh Liz...such adorable and perfect fun in daily "normal" park time...you and Juliet chose the perfect things to do. They grow up so fast...enjoy every moment. Within a few months, mine will be 17, 20 and 23 years old. How did that happen will you tell me? Thanks for visiting my blog...love you comments. Hey, Abby's Jr. Miss entry is new, but went a few down on my blog as I had it as a draft. You might want to take a look. You won't believe how she has grown. Love you cute mamma!
Made my eyes moist....because you are still my Young Women. Says a lot that you take the time and make the effort to stay close...
I love all the pictures! And hooray for friends, parks and the simple things in life!
Friendship... A miracle! A blessing from heaven.
