Rain (Gear) Required

Thank the heavens for the rain.  To be completely realistic I'll admit it has its drawbacks--it is currently seeping into our basement, it has caused the mud I curse on my kitchen floor, and let's not forget that it has slowly ruined some of my favorite shoes when I needed them most.

Nevertheless (this is J's favorite word lately) rain is absolutely required in my life because it sets in motion the green growth of spring and summer, it sweetly reminds me of Seattle and northern coastal Portugal (my two favorite lands of rain and wetness), and because of it my kids don some of my favorite of their ensembles. 

Rain does so much more.  I simply don't have words to document its accomplishments fairly.   I love the spring.  (Deep sigh of contentment.)
