Our Dad's Week

This week we celebrated Fathers' Week--why pack the fun into one day when we can spread it out over a whole week?  I figure it kind of redeems our low-key Father's Day, which was such because Sundays are stressful without a holiday.  Highlights of our week (both planned and unplanned) included the following:

A Caileann-style photo collage on the fridge that everyone enjoyed all week.

Eating some of D's favorite food and treats:  homemade pizza, homemade donuts, Philly cheesesteaks, ice cream.

Making cards for the grandpas on Monday.

Cleaning out D's car on Tuesday and leaving him "I love you" notes on stickies.

The fifty-mile bike ride D took on Tuesday morning before clocking into work at 8:30 a.m.

Meeting D for lunch on Wednesday and (successfully) hunting for turtles in the drainage pond/marsh behind the restaurant.

Having one of D's friends over for dinner on Thursday.

D's promotion on Friday--hooray!

And finally, tonight D taught J to ride his bike which made us all cheer.  Even the twins, who looked on to the tutoring as they wrapped themselves in paper towels leftover from our picnic at the lake.

I'm already looking forward to next year's celebrations in honor of the special guy who leads this family.  We're so lucky to be his!

What is this? Joshua and Eli in the stroller and Millie walking? So funny!

What a great idea! Your big boy's knees sure are seem to be crowding him in that stroller. A promotion at work?!? yeah.

...and homemade donuts sound DIVINE! Could you make me a few when you make your way to Cali (or is that a Papa Bear specialty?)
