In the Afternoon--Pick-up

In the afternoon all year we have anticipated picking up J from school.  The twins usually nap until I wake them up, and we arrive just in time for dismissal.  This past Friday was a J's last day of kindergarten and I had to be the geeky mom taking a photo of it, I just had to.  I didn't realize that I'd capture this cute moment in a photo--I heard the gist of the conversation, and J confirmed it to me later.

J:  "Mrs. F, I don't want to go and leave kindergarten."
Mrs. F: "J, I want you to know that I love you so much.  You're going to have a great summer and you're ready for first grade."
How did she do this without falling apart?  "Off you go" we say and push them out of the nest.  I couldn't even say anything to Mrs. F because I was so close to being a blubbering mess with my heart full of a jumble of gratitude and admiration.

Thankfully we're not too far from some of the best ice cream on the planet so that we could move past that little moment at the school's door.
There.  All better.

Hi, Liz! I couldn't help but enjoy Dan's face the most, thoughtfully admiring his ice cream cone. Who enjoyed that ice cream the most, I wonder? =) Miss you! xoxo

Your kids are so cute! A is beautiful (and looks just like you) and E has such a frogs, snails, and puppy-dog tails look about him. I can't believe how grown up J is; was he the twins' age when I last saw him?

Can't tell you how many times ice cream has made things "all better" for me too. Teach them while they're young :) Cute faces as always. At what age do we all hit that 'no you're too close' paranoia??? You're never too close with kids
