Soldiers on the Ceiling

After a lengthy task in the basement this morning I came upstairs with a big load of laundry and rounded the corner to notice this:  spiders maybe or a strange dripping paint problem?
I uttered a statement of surprise and from up in J's room he hollered:
"They're on a secret mission.  Is it OK if I use your tape?"
Oh, a secret mission.  I mean, it caught me a little off guard, but for a secret mission it's OK, right?  Minutes later he announced "my people are in place."  All done with the tape until the next mission, I suppose.

This is AWESOME! Reminded me of Toy Story when the army men are downstairs checking out the birthday party.

Secret missions are so very important! All resources should be volunteered. I know because my guy is forever constructing secret hideouts for his toy spies. :-)

Really, I don't know why tape isn't advertised as a toy. It should be. I bring colorful painters tape on car trips. I'll make a big loop of it and it keeps them both busy for ten minutes at least.

Maybe it's because I'm in the phase of life where I'm thinking very very hard about what I'll be 'when I grow up', but as I looked at him on the stairs I just thought, "OK, so what does this mean about what he's ganna be when he's older. What will he be doing as an aduld that will give Liz reason to look at this photo and say, Well, I should have known right then!"
