Together in Connecticut

We just spent a weekend in Connecticut with our friends the Bradys.  It has been years since Heather and I were in the same Seattle book club, and we've been on the East Coast for a few years but never managed to meet up.  This weekend they cleared their normally-bursting schedule for our short visit.  Had I realized how great it would be to be together I would have scheduled this much sooner.
We picked apples together.  Our kids played (and ran around and pretended and ate and laughed) together.  Heather and I ran in the New Haven Road Race together.  Our husbands dutifully pushed strollers together and talked about I'm-not-sure-what.  Our kids sat in the stroller and talked about I'm-not-sure-what.
I read the blogs of old friends and feel like I'm maintaining contact somehow, but being together makes up for so much lost time. Speaking of old friends, someone had a birthday this weekend and she's another year older and wiser, too!  We loved sharing her birthday with her.
(And seriously, this little girl in the front, my friend's youngest, is the cutest little pixie of a thing.  I couldn't get enough of her facial expressions!)

A few more photos to come of the buildings of beautiful Yale University for all you West Coasters who've never walked its streets.
