Our Days Won't Be the Same

I have one more official day of summer that starts out with this:  the 9:00 AM Brainstorming Session.
"What should we do today?"
Just as a sidenote, those sessions always attracted toddlers.
And they always turned into this.
School starts next week.  Life just won't be the same when he's not here to help us decide what to do and when he's not here to turn every moment of affection into a wrestling match.

But back to my melancholy, maybe we could start a tradition this year of brainstorming a little earlier (perhaps at 7 a.m.) so that we can fit the upside-down-in-his-pajamas conversations in to the normal school day routine.

Yeah my favorite is the upside down photo. Maybe gravity squishes all the best thoughts into the head better when your in that position? Who knows!

So bittersweet. I looooooove summer for how it freezes our children in time, not growing up quite yet. Our first day is next week and I'm already pretty melancholy myself!!!
