FHE--Stupid Cows and Magic Milkshakes

I was really excited about our Family Home Evening lesson, a message about rules and choices and consequences--we used video of Elder Mervyn Arnold from this weekend's General Conference.  It's a story of a stupid cow who breaks through a fence and the irreversible consequence of her mistake. As I guessed, J enjoyed it and came to understand it.  (For some reason I can't link to his talk only, but if you go to the General Conference website and then to the Sunday afternoon session and zip forward to 1 hour and 21 minutes you can hear the story from him.  We watched it for about four minutes until 1 hour and 25 minutes.)
We also enjoyed Oreo Magic Milkshakes. We love making these, and teaching a lesson is a cinch when our kids look like this:
These shakes are made in a blender of simple ingredients:  dry milk, ice cubes, sugar, a little oil, vanilla.  We added Oreo for fun, but they're also good as vanilla shakes or with cocoa powder.  We also like fruit Magic Milkshakes in which we substitute frozen fruit for the ice cubes--D's sister tipped us off to these.
It's a pretty good reason to have dry milk on hand, which is good for emergencies anyway.  In this house it's nearly impossible to keep ice cream on hand for any length of time, so this is a practical option since no one is sneaking the dry milk from the cupboards.
Your turn.  Did anyone have a good experience teaching their family this week either in FHE (for those of you who do that) or casually in another setting?

Your kids are cute! Thanks for your comments on my blog. :) We are doing good.

I loved that story of the stupid cow and I can't believe he said stupid over the pulpit. Hilarious! Good job on doing FHE!

Love the idea of having them enjoy their treat while you teach.
Thanks !
