Jack-o-Lanterns 2010

Once again J designed his own jack-o-lantern this year, cutting and taping shapes to the pumpkin so that I could do the cutting.  I'm so impressed with how his plan turned out. A and E were content to leave the creating to me as long as they could sit close to me as I did the work.
I've never been a huge fan of Halloween, but how can I hold back now when my kids beg me to create silly faces in pumpkins and then burst into a spontaneous round of applause when they see them lit up for the first time?  Last night's rehearsal of the pumpkin lighting showed me how much natural fun comes out of these silly traditions.

Very cute. I love that the pumpkin size matches the kid size :)
