Can you spot him? Look for the fisherman.
Look a little closer.
Initially he wanted to be a viking. He reconsidered when I told him that he wouldn't actually be able to take his sword to school as a prop due to his school's non-violence policy.
Apparently the sword is a deal breaker in costume selection.
I love that he sees himself as an outdoorsman. This was no game of pretend for him.

This was when he was saying "Mom, don't let E mess up the fishing line!" Too late.
No parade is complete without on-lookers. These two had so much fun.

Wish my little Elmo could have been in on the parade action.
So cute!!
He is SO into it.
Why is it that I can hear the conversation in my head? "I want to be a Viking, Mom." "Sorry, but you can't take your sword." (Sigh) "OK. Guess I'll be a fisherman."
I love that he is a fisherman! What a cute little guy. I love the bee and the butterfly on the sidelines. I am so glad I got to know your kids a little better.
I love that the schools out here do parades. I've never been to a school that did that. And Josh was a very convincing fisherman!
This is so cute. I recall that when I was in elementary school we paraded around the blacktop. This is MUCH more beautiful than having BB hoops over your head.
