On Monday we played the "Too Much" Game--we talked about water wasting, getting too fat, our brains turning to mush and other serious stuff.
Activity: Does singing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" count? OK, so it doesn't, but ran out of time on account of my lengthy explanation of Joshua's Self-Discipline Challenge.
Treat: Halloween plunder
Moment of Comedy: "Swingin'" video from Anjanette's blog.
(AJ is my sister and those funny boys are my nephews.)
Behold J's September/October art installation on our fridge. It has nothing to do with FHE, but photographing it might be the best means of preserving it. I love colored masking tape, perhaps as much as I love post-it notes. My favorite pieces this month were the two autumn trees. J took special care to point out the Ys in the tree sketch, and he described the "smearing technique" he used on that top landscape.

I miss kid art. I use to take pictures of my student's art & keep it for myself. I especially like the scarecrow & the car. Looks like you have a real artist on your hands.
PS. Glad to hear the swingin' video is being watched. I love when Sam dances at the end. Pretty sure he stole those moves from Ronny.
Love. I shrink wrapped at least one "piece" from each child. It is the art in my laundry room now. Love it. I'm in there often...and it makes me happy.
I couldn't help but think that your moderation lesson went with our FHE activity, which was to pick your 15 favorite Halloween candies to save so that the rest could go to dad's poor college students who are too old to trick-or=treat (I just hate to throw it away, but we got way too much candy at the trunk-or-treat). I also loved seeing your fridge art, and wanted to pass on our art display idea. We painted one wall of our basement with magnetic paint (then coverd it with the regular wall color), and now we have a huge "fridge" with lots of art displayed. We love it! Esp. since we were repainting anyway.
Liz - I've been meaning to send you an email. We're out of town and I'm a ninny on my husband's laptop. So I promise an email when we return. But I wanted to thank you for your comment on my blog. And for the inspiring impact you made on both me and Kelly at the retreat. You were one of our "favorites!" Love the artwork. So precious!
