Treat: Cadbury Mini Eggs
Lesson: Count Your Blessings
I remember when President Eyring gave this talk a few years ago, and I was delighted to see it formatted for children. What a great message. I love this scripture from that first paragraph: "Take heed . . . lest thou forget the things thine eyes have seen."
Activity: Glowstick-o-Rama
I'm replacing some things from our 72-Hour Packs, so it only seemed right that we should do something fun with the expired glowsticks. Our photo session went from boring to animated in about two shakes.
Do you have glowsticks in your emergency packs for your kids? Each of our kid's emergency pack has three, one per night. They are a safe light source for children to handle--put them on a cord so that they can be carried around their neck or hung on a doorknob. These particular ones have a twelve-hour life, so they could make it through an entire night and they are bright--I read the twins a Mem Fox book tonight with only the light of a glowstick.
Post-edit: I get my "light sticks" at Beprepared.com. They're a little more than a buck-a-pop.

What a great idea! I guess we need to get Devin a backpack now.
Glow sticks are a great idea! Never thought of those in emergency packs. Where do you find 12 hr life one's?
We do have glowsticks. I can't remember where I read that idea but it's so perfect and they are relatively cheap. I love those photos!!!!
I love this...my brother flies for the Marines and he brought my kids some major professional glow sticks and they had a ball last summer.
We had FHE on count your blessings too--great minds thing a like. We made a huge banner and covered it with blessings.
