FHE--Hot Rocks Revisited, Ice Cream, and the Temple's Protection

Lesson:  The Temple is a place of protection.
Dan totally winged this lesson, I think, but he's really good at winging it. He teaches early morning scripture study to over a dozen high schoolers each day, so he's always got some sort of lesson at the front of his brain.
Treat:  Ice Cream
Activity:  Hot Rocks
You should do this with your kids.  It is the easiest thing, our kids love it, and it a QUIET activity--their concentration is amazing.  Simply find rocks, wash them, heat them up in the oven for twenty minutes or so, and then let your kids go at them with crayons--I give them the ones that have already been beaten up a bit.
The crayons become melty, but not necessarily messy, so that the kids can paint on the color easily.  You can see A's rock on the left below after she had spent some time with the red crayon.
We set them out to cool.  Within a day they were buried in the front yard--go figure.
