If you're wondering who we love here in our part of Virginia, this post is for you. Really, I guess, it's for me as a sort of humble photographic reminder and memorial to friendship--with the bond of Christianity, a little time, and a few shared experiences serving together, new friends inevitably become family. We teach our children and our youth to choose good friends and until recently I confess I thought that was about staying out of trouble in high school and college. Now I understand that this standard is one for life. Our friends influence so many parts of our family life.
Last night's cookout/FHE at the Morris' home was evidence of this. After eating delicious fare and a short lesson and activity on being fishers of men, the normal running, wrestling, snacking, and story-telling resumed. The night concluded with one boy's already-loose tooth being knocked out and lost in the lawn which was just classic.
(I didn't actually ask them for permission to post these so I'm hoping they'll all forgive me. Sometimes it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission, right, Dad!)

My favorite picture is of the tooth hunt! That's when you know you have true friends, when they are willing to get on their hands and knees and search for a lost tooth! Love it!
