A Letter after Camping on the Delaware River

Dear H Family,
Thanks for meeting us in the Delaware Water Gap again.  We learned so much this time around about the right way to camp with kids.  We learned that sometimes a good four-mile hike turns out to be the perfect scouting mission for a fishing hole and midnight swimming hole--we caught some good fish and didn't take the plunge afterall.  Hot dogs still reign as the kids favorite thing to eat in a campsite, but grilled turkey melts with fresh avocado aren't a bad option (though next time I'll bring pepper). A clean porta potty makes a world of difference.  And finally, I learned that getting a little extra stuff for our camping supplies is worth it--bows and arrows, hammocks, insulated mugs, backpacks for trailruns, maybe having an extra fishing pole crank (???)
I think we can safely call this the year of the frog.  Tess was an awesome hunter.
I love how in the photo your girls have found someone to hug at the top of the trail.  Maybe O is hugging someone off to the side and I can't tell.
It will always fun to see our kids together.  The twins still call them "the cousins".
Does two years in a row make a tradition?  If not, let's keep working at it.  This is a beautiful thing in a beautiful place. We think you're wonderful and we look forward to future adventures.

With love,
Us
P.S.  We made it to Dingman's Falls on the way out.  J overcame his fatigue and E overcame his grumpiness so we could hike all the way up.  Teddy Grahams made it a little easier to go along.
J wants me to put this on for O:
