A Snow Day Tale

It all started with this morning's surprise snowfall.  We didn't even know to expect its arrival. School was cancelled and after a breakfast of pancakes and bananas "build snowman" was added to our to-do list.
So we rolled them up, stacked them up, and dressed them up.  Everyone was happy (until they weren't because they were cold) and busy (until they weren't because they were colder).
No sooner had we snapped that shot than a lost moving truck made the mistake of coming down our street--the street is just steep enough to make exiting our cul-de-sac a struggle in the snow.  We all enjoyed the show, but really we were cheering those chilly Mayflower chaps on.
Perhaps the stuck truck was a harbinger of bad things to come, or perhaps they took long enough that the day started warming it up.  In any event, things started falling apart. (What's the French word for "unraveling"?  Is it denouement?  One of my TAs in college humanities gave me a great love for this part of the story.)
In a quick finale we flapped snow angels into the fluffy stuff, enjoyed warm soup, and then watched an IMAX movie about beavers on Netflix, which we can recommend.  The end.
Tell me this:  what is your favorite month for its weather?  I myself love the drama of March.

Ah, I wish we lived near Aunt Liz. Then I could say to the kids, "It's boring at our house. Why don't you go to Aunt Liz's . . . sure to be something fun going on over there." Miss you!
