Super Tuesday Portraits and Other Things, Too

I already have a bad sleep record this month and it's only the sixth day.  I feel a little scattered and I'm staying up to read Super Tuesday results, so here's my quick list of things on my mind.  I realize it might be a little saturated with self-centered ramblings.
1.  In March I'm reading the Book of Mormon cover to cover and I think everyone should do this at least once.  Several other good friends are also doing it as part of March tradition here in Cville, and it has been so good to share insights we are having when we have a moment in passing.  I love this quick reading so much that I'm looking at my calendar trying to decide in which month I'll read the New Testament.
2.  My idea of the American Dream has morphed into something new recently.  I'm neither articulate nor concise enough to write it here perfectly, but my new idea for the American Dream has more to do with choices and work and endurance than it has to do with an end-goal.
3.  I voted today.  I really didn't know if I was a registered Republican (because I've been registered as "Independent" for years), but it turns out it doesn't matter in Virginia!  So, we marched in and made our vote.  My kids all smiled as we pushed the button together and then they gave me the "that's it?" look.  Good thing the sticker guy was ready just outside my booth--he distracted them right on cue.  Love that sticker guy.
4.  I am so politically moderate.  I've changed my views on issues over the last ten years--some might call me a flip-flopper but I feel very pragmatic.  I used to hate this about myself and now I just know I might never fit into either political party and that's OK.  Hate me if you want to.  Last presidential election I voted for a moderate candidate, and this election I hope to do the same.
5.  Last week I made 101 calls from the Mitt Romney call center here in Cville.  Ten years after my mission I still love talking to strangers, and I couldn't help thinking that knocking doors to remind people to vote would be even more fun.  I don't know if there's something wrong with me or if those eighteen months broke down (almost) every rational fear of the unknown.

I'm totally stalling--final results from Ohio are still unknown!

Wow-Taking on the whole Book of Mormon in a MONTH!?! You are GOOD! I am reading the whole Bible in a year (for the second time) - with 4 other friends. It's SO awesome that we all have the same readings everyday (on our phones) and then we set up a place to message each other with questions, comments, etc (we all live in different areas of California). I agree, everyone should do it at least once (however, after I finished it the first time - I KNEW I would be doing it again). Nice job, friend!

I really think that most US Citizens are moderates at heart.
