Her First Teaching Memory

A was assigned to give the talk in primary last Sunday.  We prepared at home and went into the primary room about ten minutes before church started to practice standing at the microphone.  She was confident and excited and practiced holding up her visual aid, a photo of her big brother J's baptism day, so that the children would be able to see her face.

Several weeks ago when E had a similar assignment she begged me ahead of time to be the one helping him by his side.  When I gently insisted that I would be the helper she came to the front anyway as he stood in front of the forty or so adults and children, and she made sure the microphone was lined up with his mouth.  Everyone giggled seeing her so sure of what her twin needed.

Even with those moments of practice, her confidence wavered in Primary when it was time for her to give her two minute talk on baptism, but we worked through it together and she beamed when she was able to return to sit at her teacher's side.  It occurred to me that she is a natural teacher and this will be one of her first memories of gospel teaching.
