Camping Reunion on Big Flat Mountain

After three days of romping through Shenandoah N.P. with one of our favorite families, the only thing to do is to revisit photos.  We camped together one more time prior to sending them off on a new adventure in a new country on the other side of the ocean, and we are happy for them.
Our first hike was to up onto Loft Mountain which always lends itself to photo ops.

Then today we made it back to Blackrock Summit so that the little people could sometimes cautiously and sometimes brazenly jump from boulder to boulder searching for caves and snakes.  The big people alternated between sunning and supervising.

Our hike back to the parking lot led us by mushrooms, centipedes, and even some huckleberries which D spotted and sampled.  (Too tart.)

Back in camp, I took photos of the backs of heads mainly so that I could remember great kid camping hair which included A's cute "tiny Tallin braids" and the boys' mosquito-repelling hairdos.

The hammock was a hit again as were the cots for naps in the shade.

We are grateful for opportunities to camp with old friends like the S Family and can barely believe we voluntarily drive away at the end of our reunions.  These memories will have to tide us over for three years.
