Cub Scout Camp is like Little Boy Heaven. Yesterday was Day One and I pulled out my camera every now and then to snap photos. Light rain came down steadily for the first three and a half hours until everyone was wet from head to toe. Yet they went from one station to the next earning beads as they marched--those boys loved their beads.
J loved it all but he impressed me most with his archery skill.
At some point I realized that everyone was dry and nobody had complained and everyone had gotten along so well, and the list of things they had tried and accomplished was so long:
Singing
Hiking
Playing flag football
Archery
BB gun shooting
Crafting a den flag
Magic tricks
Juggling
Lawn games (in lieu of lake games)
It's so fun to see in kids in developmentally appropriate settings. Today is Day Two, and though I stayed home to watch kids so another mom could go, I know I'm missing out! I can't wait to hear his stories.
